InterServer suits US sites that want a predictable bill: $2.50 a month for the first term, then the same $7 a month on any renewal term.
UltaHost suits sites whose visitors live outside the US. It lists 31 data center locations, daily backups, and a Starter plan at $3.44 a month on a 24-month term.
The fine print decides a lot here. UltaHost’s two-year deal can’t be refunded, while InterServer refunds web hosting within 30 days of sign-up.
The InterServer review and the UltaHost review cover each host in full. This page compares what you pay, what you can get back, and where your site lives.
InterServer vs UltaHost: the short verdict
InterServer wins on refund safety, storage, and predictable renewals. UltaHost wins on locations, daily backups, and uptime promises.

InterServer: for US-focused blogs and small business sites that want unlimited storage, a refund safety net, and one renewal price on every term.
UltaHost: for sites with visitors in Europe, the Gulf, or Asia, where its data centers sit closer to your readers.
Not sure which you need? If most of your visitors are in the US, InterServer’s three US regions are enough. If not, location should decide first.

Prices change often, so check InterServer’s current prices and UltaHost’s current prices before you buy.
UltaHost’s page says its price renews at the same rate for two years, but it doesn’t say what happens after that.
InterServer’s $7 applies to every renewal term.
If you’d rather pay monthly, InterServer charges $2.50 for the first month, then $7. UltaHost also sells monthly, yearly, and three-year terms, at smaller discounts.
For your wallet: UltaHost is cheaper for four years on one site. InterServer is the one you can budget for in year five and beyond.
The refund difference between InterServer and UltaHost
InterServer refunds web hosting within 30 days of sign-up on any term. UltaHost’s advertised 24-month deal isn’t refundable at all.
This matters because UltaHost’s shared page advertises a free 30-day money-back guarantee. Its refund policy then lists what’s excluded:
- Two-year and three-year plans
- Plans bought with a special promotion, promo code, or discount link
- Payments made in cryptocurrency
- Any package after the first one on an account
UltaHost also deducts a $16.99 domain fee if you cancel a shared plan with a free domain within a year. Domains, SSL certificates, and panel add-ons are never refundable.
InterServer’s terms of service refund Standard, Windows, Boost, and WordPress hosting within 30 days after sign-up. VPS and dedicated servers aren’t refundable once they start.
InterServer’s catch sits elsewhere. If you move away and registered a domain with InterServer, you pay its yearly domain registration fee.
If you’re not sure the host will suit you, InterServer is the safer first purchase.
With UltaHost, a monthly or yearly plan bought without a promo code gives you the best chance of a refund. Confirm with UltaHost before paying.
InterServer vs UltaHost data center locations
UltaHost wins on locations by a wide margin: 31 locations in 25 countries against three US regions for InterServer.
UltaHost’s data center page includes Frankfurt, New Delhi, Singapore, Tokyo, Seoul, Dubai, Riyadh, Johannesburg, and Sydney. It lists Bogota and Lagos as coming soon.
InterServer lists nine facilities in New Jersey (Secaucus, Carlstadt, and Jersey City), Los Angeles, and Dallas.
It owns one in Secaucus and leases space in the rest, per its data center page.
A closer server usually means faster first responses for your visitors. So a store selling in the Gulf or India gains more from UltaHost’s map than from InterServer’s storage.
One caution: UltaHost’s shared page highlights Frankfurt, but it doesn’t list which of the 31 locations offer shared hosting.
Ask its support before you order, especially if you need a specific country.
What InterServer and UltaHost plans include
InterServer gives more room, and UltaHost gives more safety features, such as daily backups and a written uptime promise.
Storage and sites: InterServer Standard includes unlimited storage, transfer, and email accounts. UltaHost Starter has 30 GB of NVMe storage and one domain, and suggests about 10,000 visits a month.
NVMe is a faster type of solid-state drive. It helps busy sites and databases, but a small blog rarely notices the difference.
Backups: UltaHost includes free daily backups. InterServer lists weekly backups, and its terms add that you’re responsible for backing up your own files.
If you run a store or a busy blog on InterServer, add your own backup plugin. On UltaHost, a daily copy is already there.
Control panel: UltaHost uses cPanel, the panel most hosting tutorials show. InterServer’s Standard plan uses DirectAdmin, which does the same jobs with a different layout.
CDN: InterServer includes a free Cloudflare CDN, which stores copies of your pages closer to visitors.
UltaHost’s comparison page claims a free Cloudflare CDN too, but its shared plan page doesn’t mention one.
Migration and SSL: InterServer offers free website transfer help for new accounts. UltaHost lists free SSL on its shared plans.
Uptime: UltaHost promises 99.99% uptime. We found no uptime guarantee on InterServer’s web hosting page or in its terms.
